George Swinnock (1627–1672) was an English Puritan pastor and theologian known for combining profound doctrinal thought with distinct pastoral sensitivity. He was educated at the University of Cambridge, after which he served in church congregations in London and its surroundings. Swinnock belonged to a circle of Puritans for whom theology was not an abstract discipline, but a path toward the living knowledge of God and growth in piety.
